One Thousand Gifts, I Dare You to Join Me!

I'm short on time, but my blog has been left empty, unattended, and lone for far too long.  Much like the ache in my chest that never quite seems to disappear.  I will explain, in due time, in short time, the fullness of this project.  One Thousand Gifts. The long and short of it, I'm reading a book, I'm digging deep, I'm making a change, I'm finding fresh, new perspective.  I'm daring myself to be courageous, bold, and...Thankful.  Grateful.  For big and for small.

So I'm starting my list.  All the way to 1,000 (and hopefully on and on!).

Until I can explain, check out this website, or better yet, purchase the book!  I'm only in chapter 4, but before I was even through chapter one I was convicted, no COMPELLED, to find thankfulness in my life, in my heart.

My list starts here....I dare you to join me!  Can you name 1,000 things you "love" (are THANKFUL for?)

My One Thousand Gifts

1. the pitter patter of excited toddler feet as she explores a new space, undiscovered yet by her curiosity. Her running to and from and the endless chatter that bubbles up with her precious, soft key note voice.

2. For the ocean.  It ebbs and flows, and mirrors my thoughts and emotions in a familiar, comforting way.

3. Sunrise and the way it appears that heaven is meeting earth as first light touches the water.

4. Little treasures and found things...like Emma's shovel she found on the beach today.

5. The blanket of fog that leaves dewy trees softened and glowing in shadows from the early morning sun.

6. Sunbeams, reaching threw trees with long fingers, touching ground beneath.

7. Coffee.  Thank you, Lord for coffee, and the wakefulness and energy is provides on a tired day like today.

8.  Music.  Soothing.  Uplifting.  Inspiring.  Comforting.  Fun.

9. Friends.  New and old.  Familiar.  Challenging.  Accepting.  Loving.  Understanding.

....and so the list continues.  Big and small....
